Horses For Sale
Help feed and care for horses rescued in some cases just minutes away from slaughter, and give them a second chance at a good, peaceful life in their new homes! Although the last horse slaughter plant in the United States has finally been shut down, the future for many horses is by no means assured. The Fund for Animals rescues horses around the country, both wild and domesticated, and gives them a new home and a new life at one of Fund's sanctuaries for rescued animals. Here are profiles of some of those rescued horses, and information on how you can help. In July of 2008, 155 horses arrived at their new home at the Duchess Sanctuary in Oakland, Oregon. This recently acquired refuge is the sister sanctuary to Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, in Murchison, Texas where nearly 1200 animals, including 555 horses and burros, are given permanent homes. These two equine sanctuaries are the largest such efforts in the world, providing homes and hope for hundreds of injured, abandoned, and mistreated horses.
